Giving back
At Uniquely Organic we truly believe in giving back to the environment and this is why we support the inspirational work of the Born Free Foundation. With their focused yet varied animal and environmental campaigns, we chose this charity for its shared respect toward the power we have to change and protect our planet and the species inhabiting it. You may be wondering what the connection is between the therapies we offer and preserving the life of endangered animals. Our founder, Kirsty Taylor, has always cited the strong and crucial connection between our actions and their effect on the world as one of the reasons for offering pure organic treatments and only using ethical suppliers. In the article below she describes how the link is made.
Animal testing out, but animal killing in (article)

Each year we will focus our energy on those Born Free campaigns that we feel are most closely related to the production of chemical-riddled cosmetics and that will hopefully resonate with your goals towards protecting our animals, planet and future. So what are the links between non-organic products/treatments and the plight of the polar bear?

  • Huge amounts of carbon dioxide are pumped out by factories not using green energy.
  • Companies are not offsetting their carbon emissions caused by product transportation.
  • Unethical farmers are chopping down rainforests and using chemical-riddles fertilisers to grow ingredients for the beauty industry.

All of these points are contributing to global warming which is causing the polar ice caps to melt and hastening the extinction of polar bears. As it loses its hunting ground and is forced to swim up to 60 miles to find food, this beautiful creature is experiencing exhaustion, hypothermia and drowning.

If you can't come along but still want to show your support for the polar bears please feel free to donate whatever you can ... we know they will appreciate it! All therapists participating in this event have offered their time and energy for free, a big thanks to everyone who is getting involved.
